Concerts in June
On June 13, Juan Diego Flórez will take part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in the Red Square. The tenor will be joined by Plácido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov, Ildar Abdrazakov, Aida Garifullina and Albina Shagimuratova and Maestro Valery Gergiev conducts the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra.
Next, he will present the 3rd Benefit Concert for Sinfonía por el Perú at Vienna’s Musikverein on June 16. Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims in concert version, after its last performance 30 years ago, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini’s death. The tenor will be joined by 15 young talented singers performing alongside the Filarmonica Gioachino Rossini and the Choir Academy of the Wiener Staatsoper, conducted by Christopher Franklin.
Later, Flórez will sing at the Klassik am Dom Festival for an open-air concert in Linz, with the Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Florian Krumpöck on June 23.
On June 27, he will return to Lima to present 7 years of Sinfonía por el Perú at the Gran Teatro Nacional. the progress of the project that has changed the lives of more than 8.00 children and youth in Peru. All proceeds will go towards Sinfonía por el Perú the social inclusion project that seeks to enhance the lives of thousands of children and youth through the power of music.
